71. Star Wars IV: A New Hope

What else can be said about one of the greatest movies all time? What else can be said about the pure genius that is Star Wars. George Lucas created a masterpiece that has stood the test of time and will always be one of the greatest cinematic creations of all time.
The characters of Luke, Leia, Han, & Chewy! The best villain of any movie EVER! Even the lame changes and bonus scenes Lucas has now tainted the classic with doesn’t take away from the same movie that captivated me as a child. It still captivates me now!
That's not a moon. That's a space station.
It was a thrill to take an afternoon to watch this movie. Nothing even comes close to this movie and probably never will. Throw in the fact that there are 6 of these movies it is just so great! After the Magical Movie Box made me watch Sleeping Beauty the day before it was so nice to reward that sacrifice with Star Wars. A movie that transplants all of us to a galaxy far far away every time.

Final Verdict: Duh! Winning! Own it!

Other Tidbits:
If this is a counselor's ship where is the ambassador?

I also have to mention John Williams with one of the best scores ever. It makes the movie. Star Wars would not be Star Wars without the genius of John Williams

  1. Classic! I was Princess Leia so many years for Halloween! I totally agree about the lame changes, though. Could have left those out and still been awesome.

  2. I could go on for hours about how great this movie is, but instead I'll just say, if you havn't seen it, please do yourself a favor and see it for your self. Star Wars changed the way we look at movies today. It is the most Epic movie ever.

  3. This movie captured the hearts of a generation with its fantastic appeal. Who DOESNT want to travel to a galaxy far away and shoot lazers and stuff! I'll always love these movies. Adventure, escape, all that good stuff. I have to say though, it really tripped me out when i knew that the actor in the vader suit wasn't james earl jones. that tripped me out. just sayin

  4. is it bad i never liked star wars?

  5. Great review, but you failed to mention the king, John Williams, and one of the most iconic/beautiful scores EVER!

  6. Great movie! I saw it on a first date when it was first release to the theaters. Star Wars did bring SciFi back up into the realm of popular culture. It was because of the success of star wars that Paramount decided to redu Star Trek as a movie and not a new series for TV. The next 5 Star Wars episodes did very well too! Makes you wonder if they are going to make the last 3 episodes?

  7. tooo OLD!!! I don't like old movies no matter how good people say it is. lol Sorry all you Star Wars (trek whichever)die hards... awful just awful. I will say that I like newer star wars.

  8. Love me some Star Wars! Wish I could have been home to watch this one with you.
