Number Four is an Alien. He is from another planet. His planet is Lorien. He was sent to Earth with 8 other children to be protected from the Mogadorians. The Mogadorians invaded and ravaged his planet. They harvested or destroyed all the planets natural resources and its people. The nine children and their protectors are the last of the Lorien race. They are members of the Lorien guard and must be protected at all cost.
Number Four or John Smith lives the life of a nomad. Always having to move, always having to leave the place when he gets comfortable and makes friends. Why does he always move? Because the Mogadorians are after him. They are hunting down the children and hope to kill them (in order no less) and end the Lorien race. They hope to kill all the children before they fully develop their Legacies (powers) and are able to fight back. So that is how John Smith and his “dad”/protector Henri end up in Paradise, Ohio.
Paradise may not be a picturesque Paradise but it is for him. In fact, he finds to true love and best friend that he can finally open to about who he is. All the while the Mogadorians are tracking him down!!! But the movie is great. I can't wait to read the book. What could have been a cheesy CW emo movie is actually a funny, action packed movie. Check it out. I wasn’t excited about it but ended up really liking it. Produced by Michael Bay (Transformers) and Directed by DJ Caruso (Disturbia/Eagle Eye).
Final Verdict: Will own it.
Ah, yes....the Yadier Molina biopic...
ReplyDeleteHaven't seen this one yet, but I loved the book. The second book, The Power of Six, comes out in August.
ReplyDeleteLOVED IT! Still has some adaptation problems between the book and the movie but a much better adaptation than Percy Jackson: Lightening Thief. I heard they are making the second Percy movie before long. Hopefully they will follow the book more closely! Anyway, I really loved I am Number 4 despite the fact that they Americanized Henri's name.
ReplyDeleteJeff, didn't read your comment til after I was finished. That's funny. If Yadier did have telekenesis it would make being a catcher so much easier.
ReplyDeleteI want to see this movie. just have not had the time for it yet. Does the theme remind anyone else of the series Roswell? I have high expectations for this so we'll see.
