53. Inception

Yesterday I blogged about how M. Night Shyamalan is one of the most genius directors of this generation and in movies today.  Today comes another one of those genius directors: Christopher Nolan. Inception is unparalleled in today’s society in the fact that he is 100% original. Inception is not based on any book, TV show, other movie, a sequel or a board game.
Inception is the concept of going into ones dreams planting ideas in the subject’s consciousness.  The story follows a team that specializes in Inception. The movie is centered around Leonardo Dicaprios character, Cobb, who has found his way into this line of work. He is on the run as he is wanted for murder.  Cobb and his team are hired out for one big job, and if it is successful Cobb is promised to have his freedom back.
I don’t want to give away too much but everything in this movie just works and works so well. Top notch acting, music score and special effects. It keeps you guessing and on the edge of your seat the entire movie. It is one of those movies that you have to watch right from the beginning and don’t look away, and don’t go to the restroom without pausing it. You need to watch it all the way through! In fact you will need multiple views to get it right. Nolan hit a grand slam with this one.

Final Worth: This movie is a dream. Get it and watch it twice.

  2. Alright. I didn't DISlike this movie. All in all, it was pretty OK. There were parts of it I enjoyed very much, like the fight scenes, and the special effects and stuff. The writing and acting wasn't bad, there's no question, but I don't think this movie deserved as much credit as it got. I don't think it stood up to the other best picture nominees. Not at all. I don't think it had that necessary human element. It's hard for me to explain why, but this movie didn't hit me nearly as hard as winter's bone, or the king's speech, or the social network. but hey, that's just me.

  3. I liked this movie, but I dislike the ending. I don't want to say how it ended but I will say that I like my endings a little more neat and clean. I don't want to have to guess or fill in the blanks. Just tell me what happened already!

  4. Loved this film. Nolan has become a directorial force to be reckoned with. His originality and grounding the implausible and impossible into, what seems to be, reality.
