91. Star Wars V: The Empire Strikes Back

Like I said when I blogged about A New Hope what else can I say about this movie? Empire is the sequel to one of the greatest movies of all time. In fact most people not only consider this the best sequel ever but they consider it the best of the Star Wars movies.
While I don’t think it’s the best of the Star Wars movies, that is reserved for Phantom Menace. I’m kidding, Return of the Jedi is the best.   Empire Strikes Back does what all sequels  should strive to do. Better script, better special effects, more fleshed out characters, and a huge twist. And in this case one of the biggest twists ever-- VADER is a daddy? What?!
Since Star Wars ended on such a happy tone Lucas really wanted to make Empire to have more of a darker tone as the sequel--a philosophy that many film makers have copied over the years from Transformers to Beverly Hills Chiwawa.  Empire is one genius of a movie. It is one of the best things that have ever been released on film. Of course John Williams’ score makes the movie so much better and it gave us Boba Fett. Enough said.

Final Verdict:  Worth Owning.

  2. I love Star Wars but I don't know that I have a favorite of the originals. That's probably because they all run together a little into one big story.
