Fear of the Gnome Mobile!

The Gnome Mobile. Disney. 1967. From www.imdb.com An eccentric millionaire and his grandchildren are embroiled in the plights of some forest gnomes who are searching for the rest of their tribe. While helping them, the millionaire is suspected of being crazy because he's seeing gnomes! He's committed, and the niece and nephew and the gnomes have to find him and free him. And yes we own THIS MOVIE! I have no idea why. My wife loved it as a child, she thinks it's great. So this is my fear as I go the bed tonight. That I might be starting this journey tomorrow having to watch The Gnome Mobile. O, the horror.

Much more is going through my mind as I do this. First, can I even do this project. My schedule doesn’t allow for a movie a day. Plus I get bored easily. B. Will anyone read this thing and will they care? So what if I own a lot of movies? Who really cares. Third, will I have to watch the Gnome Mobile sometime this year? This, of course is left of to the magical movie box (MMB). It ultimately decides what I will be watching. Will it be kind the first week? Give me great movies like Remember the Titans or Hitch. Or will the MMB decide that I need to start according to its rules. I can already tell me and MMB are not going to get along at times!

So check back here tomorrow. See what the good ole Magical Movie Box chose for me. See my thoughts on that movie. See if it is one that is really worth owning. I know my dreams are just going to be haunted by those little Gnomes. Please let it be Goonies tomorrow!

  1. the Gnome Mobile is a funny movie! I always enjoyed it. Yes, the plot is outlandish but what Disney movie was ever grounded in reality? I can't wait until you watch it. I think it will be funny if the MMB chooses all of my movies but leaves all of your favorites as leftovers at the end of the year. It would serve you right!

  2. The good thing about these movies are they are like 40 minutes.....at least it won't be like 3 hours like Lord of the Rings or something.

  5. Are those the kids from Mary Poppins? If so, is it pre or post MP, 'cause if it's post, talk about career suicide...

  6. Those kids are indeed from Mary Poppins! I never knew Mr. Disney even made a movie about gnomes. Once I bought Noe a shirt that said "Hangin with my gnomies" and it had two garden gnomes with sunglasses and big gold chains on their necks. I thought it was hilarious, but, surprisingly, he never wore it. Hopefully this movie goes over better than the shirt!

  7. Like Vanessa said, they are the same kids. This movie was made after Mary Poppins. So I don't know if it killed their career or if they just had enough money to live on after making two Disney movies...who knows?

  12. This was one of my favorite movies growing up. I watched it a lot! I rented it from Netflix, and Kieven loved it! Definitely worth watching. Once you get past the singing it's a fun show.
