I own a lot of movies. I am sure there are people out there that own more than me but I own A LOT of movies. Let’s just get to it. I own 360. At one time it was pushing close to 600. That is a lot to me. When you are single you have more money. At least that was my excuse. Instead of renting a movie I would buy it. I just never thought much about it. But now I wonder… Why do I own so many movies? Rarely do we watch them. They really come in handy when 1. Other people borrow them. B. When people come to visit and Finally when I am sick I am happy I own a lot of movies.
So lately I have been really convicted that I need to do something with these movies. I don’t really think that I could get a lot of money for them so what do I do? So I came up with this idea to put them to use. I decided to watch 365 movies in one year. It started out watching a movie a day but honestly that is impossible to do because of my summer schedule. But I want to put all these movies to use, tell my thoughts on them and ultimately decided whether the movie is worth owning? So the journey is gearing up to begin. I hope you enjoy my insights to come. Hopefully I will be able to answer the question of..."Why do I own so many movies!!!!!!!!!"
360 movies is a lot. Although I would disagree that they don't come to good use. I know many people have enjoyed them just in the 4.5 years we have been married and many before that. I also would have to agree that they are used frequently when we are ill and can't even think about getting out to rent anything. Remember? We watched something like 10-12 movies the 3-4 days that we were sick! That is good use. It would have cost WAY too much to rent that many.
ReplyDeleteAt one point I owned about 200+ but someone made me sell them....I forgot who. Nonetheless, have fun with this, I'll be reading. I hope you watch something really silly so I can tease that you watched it...j/k...but seriously I will
ReplyDeleteI sometimes wish I had still had every cd, movie, 8-track, cassette, or record I had ever owned. I'll hear a song, or see a clip and think, "I've got that. . .somewhere." But I don't, anymore. In an age of Netflix through the Wii and RedBox, unless there's something truly classic and worthy about the movie, I can't justify ownership of JUST any movie. Yes, this project/blog should be fun to watch.
ReplyDeletejust watch Noises Off 365 times
ReplyDeleteI like this idea. I should start a blog.
ReplyDeleteWow! Good luck with this one! btw, this is an awesome blog design.
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to read your review...but I do reserve the right to disagree with you!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the comments on the design. I will gladly claim that this is all my handiwork.
ReplyDeleteYeah, my wife did the layout, graphics, type, and color scheme for my blog. I love it! She also did a baseball themed layout for my friend. http://badbeatwaiting.blogspot.com
ReplyDeleteWow!!!! I thought 360 was alot but you used to have 600! Gosh! lol! Great start and thanks for including me.
ReplyDeleteI love this idea but I think I would have to get married or have someone push me as well to faithfully write. There are days when I watch several films in one day. For example, I've already watched 4 films today (Malcom X -1992; The Cowboy and the Lady - 1938; An American Werewolf in London - 1981; and The Landlord - 1970). Most of the time the only connection is that they were nominated for an Oscar. As for my movie count, I have hundreds and hundreds of films. I mean a lot. I'll have to do a count or estimate sometime
ReplyDeleteToo bad you don't live closer to me...I could borrow some of your movies! :)
ReplyDeleteYOU SAID GEARING UP!!!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!
ReplyDeleteI love the design and layout of your blog. Christiana, you did a great job! :)
